Klaviyo vs HubSpot for a B2C Brand With 200,000 Contacts
Klaviyo's public prices stop at 150,000 profiles, and HubSpot's bands put 200,000 marketing contacts at $5,250 a month on Enterprise. The bill and the AI on each plan.
On this page
Klaviyo vs HubSpot pricing at 200,000 contacts sets a published price list against a sales quote. HubSpot prints its contact bands far enough that a 200,000-contact bill can be worked by hand, while Klaviyo's public calculator stops at 150,000 active profiles. We read both pricing pages, HubSpot's product catalog and Klaviyo's help center on October 7, 2026, and worked the bill for a hypothetical direct-to-consumer brand with 200,000 emailable contacts. Our position is that the unit each vendor bills matters more at this size than the rate card, and that each platform's AI follows the data it was built around.
What does Klaviyo charge for 200,000 profiles?
Klaviyo pricing for 200,000 profiles in 2026 is a custom quote. The plan slider on the pricing page from Klaviyo runs from 500 to 150,000 active profiles, and its final step is labeled "150,000+" with the price shown as "Custom" and the note "Contact sales for a custom plan." At the last published rung, 150,000 active profiles, the Email plan is $1,955 a month with 1,500,000 emails included. The Marketing plan, which adds social marketing, Customer Hub and predictive analytics, is $2,490.
For larger accounts, the page's Enterprise tab lists two packages, Klaviyo Standard and Klaviyo Advanced. The same page says Advanced is priced on active profiles and that "Email, SMS, and push sends are purchased separately based on usage." We found no published price for either package.
A planning figure is possible if it is labeled as our assumption. Between 100,000 and 150,000 profiles the Email plan climbs $575, from $1,380 to $1,955. If the next 50,000 profiles cost the same, 200,000 would land near $2,530 a month. Use it only to sanity-check a quote, since Klaviyo may price this size differently.
Which of the 200,000 does Klaviyo bill?
Klaviyo's pricing at 200,000 contacts or subscribers depends on how many of them are active profiles. The billing article from Klaviyo, updated March 25, 2026, defines the term: "Any profile, regardless of consent status, that can be emailed through Klaviyo is considered an active profile." That includes shoppers who typed an email at checkout and never opted in. Suppressed, unsubscribed and deleted profiles leave the billable count once Klaviyo has processed them.
Suppression is the first pricing lever, and we would suppress long-quiet contacts for email deliverability reasons anyway. Suppose 60,000 of our brand's contacts have gone quiet, a hypothetical share. Suppress them and 140,000 active profiles is back on the public list at $1,840 a month for Email. The plan will not shrink by itself, though: "Your plan does not automatically downgrade when you reduce profiles; you must choose a lower tier in the Billing page after your billable profile count has updated." Upgrades are automatic at the end of a billing cycle. The article covers only accounts that are not manually billed, so a custom plan's terms sit in its contract.
What does HubSpot Marketing Hub charge for 200,000 contacts?
HubSpot Marketing Hub pricing for 200,000 contacts in 2026 can be worked from the product and services catalog published by HubSpot. HubSpot bills marketing contacts, the people you can email or target with ads, and the catalog says "all your non-marketing contacts are free, up to a limit of 15 million overall contacts". It describes the contact fee as "a blended rate based on the number of contacts purchased and the applicable rates", which we read as each band billed at its own price. The totals below are our arithmetic on that reading.
| Line | Professional | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|
| Base subscription | $890 a month, 3 core seats, 2,000 marketing contacts | $3,600 a month billed annually, 5 core seats, 10,000 marketing contacts |
| Price per extra block, by band | $250, $225, $200 and $175 for successive 20,000-contact bands up to 82,000, then $150 | $100 up to 50,000, $90 up to 100,000, $80 up to 200,000 |
| Blocks to cover 200,000 | 40 blocks of 5,000 (a 202,000 tier) | 19 blocks of 10,000 |
| Contact fee per month | $7,000 | $1,650 |
| Monthly total | $7,890 | $5,250 |
| Required one-time onboarding | $3,000 | $7,000 |
| Monthly email send limit | 10x the tier: 2,020,000 | 20x the tier: 4,000,000 |
The pricing page from HubSpot showed Professional starting at $800 a month on an annual commitment, with $890 struck through, when we read it; the table uses the catalog's $890.
Is Professional or Enterprise the better buy at this size?
HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise pricing at 200,000 contacts favors Enterprise by $2,640 a month on the catalog's bands, because Enterprise blocks cost $80 to $100 per 10,000 contacts while Professional blocks cost $150 to $250 per 5,000. Over a first year with onboarding, that is $70,000 for Enterprise against $97,680 for Professional.
The catalog also sets how the bill moves. "If you exceed your marketing contacts tier at any time, you will be billed immediately." And once you are up a tier, "your contact tier pricing cannot be downgraded until your contract renewal date". A holiday signup surge can therefore set the price for the rest of the term. The offsetting control is the non-marketing flag: mark the same 60,000 quiet contacts as non-marketing before you buy, and the Enterprise tier is 140,000, or $4,770 a month by the same arithmetic, with every record still in the CRM.
What AI does each plan include for a store?
Klaviyo vs HubSpot AI capabilities for an ecommerce B2C brand differ, in our reading, in the data each one works from: Klaviyo's predictions need storefront orders, and HubSpot's agents work from CRM records.
| AI feature | Klaviyo | HubSpot Marketing Hub |
|---|---|---|
| Agent that builds campaigns | Composer marketing agent on both paid plans; enterprise Composer Credits "currently in public beta" | Campaign agent (Beta) on Professional or Enterprise |
| Generated content | Generative AI for content, images and segments on both paid plans | Content agent (Beta), 1,000 credits per piece; Nurture agent (Beta), 10 credits per personalized email |
| Prediction | Predictive analytics on the Marketing plan; the plan comparison marks it absent from Email | Lead scoring with predictive AI; email send time optimization (Beta) on Enterprise only |
| Customer-facing agent | Customer Agent, "starting at $50 per month for up to 75 conversations" | Customer agent, 50 credits per resolved conversation |
| Meter | Composer credits; extra usage at "$10 per 1,000 credits" | 3,000 credits a month on Professional, 5,000 on Enterprise; extra at "$0.010 per credit" |
The product page from Klaviyo says Composer can create campaigns, flows, messages and segments, "while giving you the opportunity to review customer-facing work before it goes live."
How the two handle lifecycle AI
For B2C lifecycle marketing in 2026, Klaviyo vs HubSpot AI is prediction on one side and per-email generation on the other. The help article from Klaviyo, updated August 5, 2025, covers predicted lifetime value, churn risk and expected date of next order, and sets entry conditions: "At least 500 customers have placed an order", an ecommerce integration such as Shopify or orders sent by API, "at least 180 days of order history" with orders in the last 30 days, and some customers who have placed 3 or more orders. The pricing page's plan comparison lists predictive analytics under the Marketing plan and marks it as not included in the Email plan, while another view of the same page lists it with the paid email product and the Personalization add-on, so confirm which plan unlocks it in a quote.
HubSpot's lifecycle AI is the Nurture agent, which personalizes automated emails contact by contact, plus lead scoring (up to 5 scores on Professional, 50 on Enterprise). We found no lifetime-value, churn or next-order prediction in the catalog's Marketing Hub section.
What HubSpot's agents cost to run
HubSpot's AI agentic marketing features, as the 2026 catalog lists them, are named agents that draw on HubSpot Credits. Campaign agent, Content agent and Nurture agent are each marked Beta and offered on Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise, alongside Customer agent. The allowance resets monthly, and the catalog adds: "Unused credits do not roll over into the following month."
On a B2C list the rate sheet adds up fast. Nurture agent personalizes an automated email "using their CRM history, engagement signals, and live company research" at 10 credits apiece. In a hypothetical send of one nurture email to 50,000 contacts, that is 500,000 credits; Enterprise includes 5,000, and the other 495,000 cost $4,950. Support is cheaper: a conversation resolved by Customer agent uses 50 credits, or $0.50 at the pay-as-you-go rate, against roughly $0.67 at Klaviyo's entry tier when all 75 conversations are used.
Which platform fits which team
A store-led brand whose lifecycle program runs on orders and repeat-purchase timing gets more from Klaviyo. Its predictions are built on placed-order data, suppression pulls the bill down, and at a size where both vendors publish a price the gap is wide: at 140,000 contacts, $1,840 a month for Klaviyo's Email plan against $4,770 for HubSpot Enterprise by our arithmetic, though HubSpot's fee covers more than email. The trade is a sales conversation at 200,000 and a Composer meter still in beta. Set either fee against the ranges in how much email marketing costs.
A CRM-led team, with sales reps or a service desk working the same records, has a case for HubSpot. Storing non-marketing contacts for free and paying only for the people you market to is a real advantage, and the agents reach across sales and service. Price Enterprise, budget credits before switching on any per-email agent, and remember that the agent descriptions lean on company research more than order history.
On either platform, judge any AI lift against the baselines in our email marketing statistics. Our lifecycle and demand generation team can pressure-test either quote, and further resources are the email deliverability checker and the lifecycle email playbook.
Before asking either vendor for a number, count two things in your own database: every profile that can be emailed, and the contacts you intend to market to this year. Klaviyo will bill the first and HubSpot the second.
